Juventus has rekindled their interest in Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, as negotiations for Mason Greenwood have reached a standstill. Reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport indicate that the Italian club is considering Sancho as an alternative due to Manchester United’s firm stance on Greenwood’s transfer fee.
Manchester United has set a €50 million price tag on Mason Greenwood, who spent the previous season on loan at Getafe. Juventus and United have been in discussions regarding a potential move for Greenwood to the Allianz Stadium, but the high asking price has complicated matters. As a result, Juventus’ director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has reportedly shifted his focus to Jadon Sancho.
Sancho, who returned to Manchester United after a six-month loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, where he netted three goals and provided three assists in 21 appearances, is now a target for Juventus. The Italian club is exploring a loan deal for Sancho, with the condition that Manchester United cover a portion of his substantial €8.5 million annual salary.
Earlier this year, Juventus had almost secured Sancho on loan during the January transfer window. However, the move was blocked by manager Massimiliano Allegri, who was reluctant to alter the team’s setup midway through the season. Now, with Greenwood’s transfer seeming unlikely, Juventus has revived their pursuit of Sancho.
While a permanent transfer for Sancho seems improbable at this stage, given the similarly high €50 million valuation set by Manchester United, a loan arrangement appears to be a more viable option for Juventus. This potential move would allow Sancho to continue his development in Serie A while providing Juventus with a valuable addition to their squad.
The outcome of these negotiations remains uncertain, but Juventus’ renewed interest in Sancho underscores their determination to bolster their attacking options. Whether through securing Greenwood or bringing in Sancho, Juventus is actively seeking ways to enhance their roster ahead of the new season.
