Boxing legend Mike Tyson recently experienced a health scare during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, but he is reportedly recovering well.
The incident occurred this past Sunday when Tyson began feeling unwell mid-flight. According to reports from In Touch Weekly, about 30 minutes before the plane was scheduled to land, an announcement was made seeking medical assistance for Tyson. Paramedics attended to him upon landing.
Fortunately, the situation did not escalate into a serious medical issue. Representatives for Tyson informed The New York Post that he experienced nausea and dizziness due to an ulcer flare-up. They expressed gratitude to the medical staff who assisted him, and confirmed that Tyson is now in good health.
The timing of this incident has intensified scrutiny surrounding Tyson’s upcoming boxing match with Jake Paul. At 57 years old, Tyson’s involvement in the July 20th bout against the much younger 27-year-old Paul has been controversial. Following the health scare, there have been increased calls from fans and commentators to reconsider the match.
During a recent press conference promoting the fight, Tyson candidly admitted to feeling physically worn out, attributing it to his age. Ariel Helwani, who hosted the event, suggested Tyson might be exaggerating, but Tyson insisted that he has felt better in the past.
As of now, it remains uncertain whether the fight will proceed as planned. Despite this uncertainty, it is reassuring to hear that Tyson is on the mend following his in-flight medical episode.
