Has Victor Osimhen Played His Final Game for Napoli?

Victor Osimhen’s absence in Napoli’s recent 2-2 draw with Fiorentina has sparked speculation about his future with the club.

The Super Eagles striker featured in Napoli’s previous match, a 2-0 defeat to Bologna, but suffered a muscle injury that has plagued much of his tenure in Naples. Due to this injury, Osimhen was unable to participate in the critical Serie A clash against Fiorentina.

Napoli is closely monitoring Osimhen’s condition, hoping he can recover in time for their final match of the season against Lecce. This game could be crucial for Napoli as they aim to secure a spot in the UEFA Conference League. However, if Osimhen isn’t fully fit, he may have to sit out the season’s finale.

Beyond immediate fitness concerns, there is rising interest from major clubs like Chelsea and PSG, which adds another layer of uncertainty about Osimhen’s future at Napoli. Typically, when a player is about to leave a club, they take a ceremonial walk around the pitch to acknowledge the fans. Should Osimhen partake in such a gesture, it could signal his departure from Napoli this summer.

According to Napoli Magazine, Osimhen has resumed light training but has not yet regained full fitness. Napoli must balance their caution with Osimhen’s eagerness to return, especially as he aims to replicate his scoring success against Lecce, having already netted against them earlier in the season.

If Osimhen fails to recover in time, his appearance in the loss to Bologna may well have been his last for Napoli, marking the end of his chapter with the Italian club amid growing transfer speculation.
