Kalvin Phillips, currently on loan at West Ham United, was recently seen celebrating Manchester City’s record-breaking Premier League title alongside Pep Guardiola and the team. The 28-year-old midfielder moved to West Ham for the second half of the 2023/24 season, despite receiving offers from Newcastle United and Fulham.
Phillips returned to Manchester City to rehabilitate a hamstring injury, which has kept him out for the final weeks of the season. This return also coincides with David Moyes’ farewell to West Ham. Since joining City in July 2022, Phillips has made just 31 appearances but has already won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and Emirates FA Cup in his debut season.
During his time with West Ham, Phillips appeared in eight Premier League matches and also featured in the UEFA Europa League. However, his future at Manchester City appears uncertain, with expectations that he will leave this summer. Leeds United, his former club, is among those reportedly interested, though West Ham is not expected to pursue a permanent transfer.
Manchester City secured their fourth consecutive Premier League title with a 3-1 victory over West Ham, thanks to Phil Foden’s first-half brace and a second-half goal from Rodri. Although Phillips doesn’t qualify for a Premier League winners’ medal automatically, he was present at the Etihad Stadium for the historic match.
Phillips joined in the celebrations, captured in photos alongside teammates Stefan Ortega and John Stones. His participation in the title celebrations underscores his connection to Manchester City, despite his loan spell at West Ham and uncertain future.
