Tottenham’s Radu Drăgușin on Napoli’s Radar for Summer Transfer

Tottenham Hotspur’s Radu Drăgușin has resurfaced as a potential transfer target for Napoli, as reported by Corriere dello Sport. Drăgușin joined Tottenham from Genoa during the winter transfer window, but his time on the pitch has been limited, accumulating just 334 minutes over eight Premier League matches.

Prior to his move to Tottenham, Napoli had already shown interest in the young centre-back. This interest seems to persist, especially in light of Drăgușin’s struggle to secure regular playing time under Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou. On May 3rd, Drăgușin’s agent, Florin Manea, hinted at a possible exit from Tottenham if his client continues to be sidelined. Manea also suggested that a move to Napoli could be on the cards, particularly if Antonio Conte is appointed as their next manager.

In a recent update, Corriere dello Sport highlighted that Napoli still sees Drăgușin as a viable option. Both Tottenham and Napoli had previously made similar offers to Genoa, but Drăgușin ultimately chose the London club, a decision that hasn’t panned out as expected for the player.

Napoli’s interest remains contingent on certain financial conditions, though specific details of these conditions are not provided. For now, their primary target is Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno. Napoli has made an offer of €35 million plus €5 million in bonuses for Buongiorno and is currently awaiting Torino’s response.

Should negotiations for Buongiorno fall through, Napoli might shift their focus back to Drăgușin during the upcoming transfer window. This scenario could offer the Romanian international a much-needed fresh start and more consistent playing opportunities.
